Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for a man who allegedly shot and killed a woman while on the Metro Rail in Hollywood.
The shooting happened around 5:11 a.m. on Sunday, according to police, while the Metro was stopped at Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.
Witnesses told LAPD that just before the Metro stopped they saw “an agitated suspect pacing on the train” get into a verbal argument with the woman, who was seated near him. They said he shot her as the train came to a halt and exited the train onto Hollywood Boulevard.
LAPD said the woman suffered several gunshot wounds was taken by Los Angeles Fire department medics to a nearby hospital, where she died of her injuries.
Witnesses had few details for investigators to go on, other than the suspect was a Hispanic man wearing a blue jacket, blue shorts, dark hat and a surgical mask.
Police released suriveillance images of the suspect on Monday, corroborating eyewitness descriptions.
