He may be seeking to gain more traction in the race for the Republican nomination in the next year’s Presidential election, but Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appears to be ramping his operation down some in a number of key primary states.
Ironically, the super PAC scaling back is called “Never Back Down.”
The PAC has already ceased its door-knocking operations in California and Nevada and has halted its field operations in both North Carolina and Texas.
Nevada is considered an early battleground state, while the other three hold their primaries on the day dubbed “Super Tuesday.”
NBC News reported that the PAC’s plan is to “reinvest” in other early primary states like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, according to a PAC spokesperson.
DeSantis has struggled in early polls to reach the same numbers as the man who currently sits as the Republican frontrunner, beleaguered former President Donald Trump.
Trump continues to hold a big lead over DeSantis despite facing several criminal indictments.
