LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Disney announced Thursday it would be pausing all business in Russia, citing the country’s invasion in Ukraine.

The company said in a statement, “Given the unrelenting assault on Ukraine and the escalating humanitarian crisis, we are taking steps to pause all other businesses in Russia. This includes content and product licensing, Disney Cruise Line activities, National Geographic magazine and tours, local content productions and linear channels.”

The company noted that while many businesses will be paused immediately, some will take time due to contractual issues.

“…we remain committed to our dedicated colleagues in Russia, who will remain employed. And we continue to work with our NGO partners to provide urgent aid and other much-needed assistance to refugees.” Disney continued in its statement.

The company previously announced it was pausing the release of its upcoming Pixar movie, “Turning Red” in Russia.
