The Justice Department on Friday morning released a much more detailed list of the items seized during their search last month of President Donald Trump’s offices at his Florida resort Mar-a-Lago.

In all, 33 boxes and containers were confiscated by federal agents during the August 8 search, including over 10,000 government records that were supposed to have been given to the National Archives and Records Administration months ago.

Among the scores of official documents were 43 empty folders with “classified” classifications and another 28 empty folders marked “Return to Staff Secretary” or military liaison. The empty folders were found both in Trump’s office and in a storage closet.

The DOJ neither indicated why the folders were empty nor where the documents that belonged in them might be.

While the classified materials’ contents were not described in detail, the new release does show how haphazardly they were strewn among other belongings of the former President. The folders and documents were found among newspapers, magazines, clothing and an array of other personal effects.

Trump’s legal team has yet to comment publicly on the new information.

The DOJ also announced that the documents taken from Mar-a-Lago had been reviewed, and that classified materials were segregated and are being stored following the required protocol.

“The seized materials will continue to be used to further the government’s investigation, and the investigative team will continue to use and evaluate the seized materials as it takes further investigative steps, such as through additional witness interviews and grand jury practice,” the department said.
