In an internal email leaked on his own site, Elon Musk has made a demand of the remaining employees of Twitter: commit or leave.

In the email reportedly sent overnight to Twitter employees, Musk says that they must be ready to be "extremely hardcore" in their work and plan to work "long hours at high intensity." Staff who agreed to these terms were asked to click a link by 5pm EST on Thursday.

Employees who decided they weren't up to Musk's task could decline to click the link and would then be terminated from Twitter and given three months of severance pay.

This move comes after Musk dissolved Twitter's board of directors, laid off 50% of Twitter's workforce last week and had a second round of laying off more than 5,000 contractors. After the layoffs, Musk admitted to making some mistakes and welcomed back a handful of employees

Musk's time owning Twitter has included a whirlwind of activity, including telling legacy verified check mark accounts they will lose those check marks, launching and then shutting down Twitter's Blue subscription model and banning people who impersonated him on the site.
