Despite a growing call among Republicans for former President Donald Trump to return to Twitter as Tesla CEO Elon Musk tries to buy the company, Trump says he probably won't be tweeting again.
Trump's comments about his account being reinstated came after Musk offered to buy the social media platform for $43 billion and take it private.
When it comes to the former president's social media interests, he shared with Sirius XM's "Americano Media" that he is focused on his own venture, Truth Social.
"We're doing a big platform right now, so I probably wouldn't have any interest," Trump said.
The former tweet-a-holic said he thinks Twitter is "very boring" because they "got rid of a lot of good voices" on the platform, mostly the "conservative voices."
"Now it's boring, and friends of mine tell me that Twitter is not the same place. It's a very boring place right now," Trump said.
Trump was booted from Twitter after the Jan. 6 Capitol riots when the company said his presence on the platform carried a "risk of further incitement of violence."
Following Musk's initial bid to buy Twitter, the company has adopted a poison pill. Now, if he, or anyone, purchases 15% of the stock in the company without the board's approval, his shares will become diluted by offering other shareholders a discount to buy in for more.
However, Musk has said he is willing to put up as much as $15 billion of his own money and plans to group investors to make a move on the company within the next two weeks.
Some reports, including one from MSNBC's Ari Melber, say that Musk is looking to do one thing through his acquisition of Twitter, get Trump back on the platform.
However, the billionaire has not come out and said this, saying instead he thinks it's important to create a more welcoming environment on the platform.
So when it comes to getting more late-night Trump tweets, we may still have to wait before he shows up on our feeds once again.
