SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KNX) – One person was arrested Wednesday after California Border Patrol Agents found $60,000 worth of methamphetamine inside child booster seats.

Officials said a vehicle stop was conducted on Interstate 15, north of Newton Azrak Border Patrol Station checkpoint. Inside the car were two adults and their children.
A Border Patrol K9 team alerted agents “to the presence of narcotics inside the children’s three booster seats,” according to California Border Patrol.
Inside the booster seats were multiple packages of a white crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
The driver, who was not identified by Border Patrol, had 26.9 pounds of methamphetamine worth $60,000.
“The driver of the car and the narcotics were turned over to the Inland Crackdown Allied Taskforce for prosecution,” the agents said.
The four children and their mother were released, officials said.
