He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
Officers responded around 11:43 p.m. Wednesday to Neil's Lounge in the 80-900 block of Highway 111 in Indio to a report of a disturbance, according to public information officer Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department.
"While police officers were in route to the call, additional information received advised an individual was suffering from a gunshot wound," Guitron said in a statement. "Indio Fire/Cal Fire paramedics responded and transported the gunshot victim to a local hospital, where the victim remains in critical condition."
