Santa Ana parents arrested in 2-year-old's stabbing

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KNX) – The parents of a Santa Ana 2-year-old girl were arrested Sunday after the girl was hospitalized with a stab wound and bruises, according to Santa Ana police.

The child’s father dropped the child off with a family member, who discovered signs of physical abuse on the child, KTLA reported. The family member took the child to the hospital where a stab wound was discovered on the child’s body as well as bruising.

Officers think the abuse went on for about two months, according to ABC 7.

Police arrested the child’s father, Santos Beltran, and the father’s girlfriend, Ana Villalba.

Beltran was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, domestic violence, and child abuse. Villalba was arrested on suspicion of child abuse.

It was also reported Social Services took three other kids who were at the house and put them into protective custody.

The child is expected to recover.
