SFO employee stabbed at baggage claim, man arrested

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – A man is in police custody after an airport employee was allegedly stabbed at the baggage claim area of San Francisco International Airport on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing near baggage claim number four of the airport's terminal three at approximately 4:55 a.m., San Francisco Police Officer Robert Rueca told KCBS Radio.

Authorities arrived on the scene and located an adult male victim suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. An adult male suspect was arrested.

His identity has not been released.

Rueca confirmed to KCBS Radio's Matt Bigler that suspect is a homeless person and the victim is an airport employee.

An investigation is ongoing. Airport operations have not been impacted and there is no threat to the public, according to Rueca.
