GRANBURY (1080 KRLD)- Police in Granbury are saying a one-year-old child accidentally fired a weapon and shot his sibling and mother outside a Walmart parking lot.

Police were called to the store on Highway 377 about 11:30 a.m.

Granbury Police say a family of four was getting out of their car. The dad was behind the car, and police say the mom was standing outside a window with their three month old child.

The couple's one-year-old child was still in the car and found a gun between a seat and the center console and accidentally fired it. The bullet hit the three month old in the leg and then hit their mom in the arm and chest, police say.

CareFlite was called and flew both the three-month-old and the mother to hospitals in Fort Worth. Granbury Police have not released their identities or conditions.

The father was not hurt. Police say no one else was involved, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

No other information has been released at this time.
