An Addison man has been identified as the driver who shot and killed in a confrontation with Arlington police this week.

Officials say Jesse Fischer was pronounced dead at Medical City Arlington just past 3:00 p.m. Wednesday. Arlington police say an officer fired at Fischer in his SUV because Fischer was driving straight at the officer on a cul-de-sac near South Collins and Arkansas.
That officer and one other are on administrative leave which is standard in a police shooting.
