Amazon is testing out a new delivery system that could end up benefiting North Texas shopping malls.

Ten cities across the country are partnering with Amazon to test out a new delivery system, including Dallas, Frisco, and Houston. The idea is for Amazon to use stores inside malls to get same-day deliveries out as fast as possible. Basically, Amazon sends orders to the store, the retailer's employees fill them, then an Amazon driver picks it up and makes the delivery within a couple of hours.

Stores at NorthPark Center and the Galleria in Dallas have been chosen to participate, as well as Frisco's Stonebriar Center. At this point, you can only order from a small selection of stores, but Amazon says it plans to add more brands, stores and locations in the coming months.

Other cities involved in the test include Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas and Miami.

Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy have found success competing against Amazon by filling orders from their stores and delivering them to customers who live nearby.
