A MedStar crew is recovering after a driver crashed into an ambulance responding to a call yesterday in Fort Worth.
No one was seriously hurt, but MedStar Chief Transformation Offier Matt Zavadsky says the crash serves as reminder about how important it is to be aware when an emergency vehicle is coming your way.
"It is important for drivers to find a safe place, to move over to the right, to move out of the way and let that emergency vehicle pass," Zavaskdy says, adding that you need to pull over as safely as possible, and sometimes that means moving to the left.
June is even recognized as Move Over Awareness Month. The goal is to remind drivers that they’re required by law to move over and slow down when they come across emergency vehicles at work.
