Arlington (1080 KRLD) - A traffic stop turned deadly on Friday with Arlington Police reporting that after fleeing the stop, the car involved was subsequently involved in a fatal hit and run.

A Pantego Police officer reportedly attempted to initiate a routine traffic stop involving two adults in a maroon 2011 Buick Lacrosse at W. Arkansas Lane near Bowen Street. The vehicle then fled the scene, driving over 100 mph according to witnesses, running multiple red lights along the way.

The Lacrosse subsequently struck another vehicle when running a red light, causing this second vehicle to hit two parked cars in a nearby parking lot. The crash took place in the eastbound lanes of 800 block of W. Arkansas Lane near the intersection of 2200 S. Cooper Street.

The struck car contained only the driver, Arlington resident 39-year old Douglas Osiemo, who was pronounced dead on the scene. The two adults in the Lacrosse then fled the scene on foot and have yet to be apprehended.

The Lacrosse was not reported stolen but contraband was found within it.

According to the Pantego PD, after the Lacrosse had gotten past S. Fielder Road at speed the officer opted to call off the traffic stop attempt.

If anyone has any information pertaining to this accident they are asked to reach out to Crash Investigator Joe Shipp at 817-575-8602. Anybody who wishes to remain anonymous can contact the Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS.
