(DALLAS ) 1080 KRLD- Police have made an arrest in connection with an 8-year-old boy that died after being struck by a car in east Dallas Monday night.
Police say the boy was riding a scooter on Dilido Road near I-30 and Buckner.
A little past 7 p.m., 911 calls came in saying the boy had been struck by a car.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are now saying the driver, 30-year-old Miguel Martinez stayed on the scene, but they later determined he had been drinking and had a child in the car.
Police arrested him and have charged him with Intoxication Manslaughter and Driving While Intoxicated with Child Under 15.
