Northwest ISD wins boundary dispute with Carroll

It appears that Northwest has beaten rival Carroll ISD in a battle over school boundaries.

Without comment the Texas Supreme Court is allowing lower court rulings to stand in a long fight over a boundary line and which school district gets the thousands of students and potentially millions in property taxes.

The fight has been going on for years and has already been appealed four times. Going forward, the districts will use a school boundary between the Northwest District and Carroll ISD created in 1949 by the Tarrant County Commissioner's court.

The Carroll ISD was created in 1959 and Carroll contended the line should have been moved at that time. A trial judge and the Second Court of Appeals sided with the Northwest school district, and the Supreme Court is letting those orders stand.
