Dallas police are looking for three people who attacked a cat in the parking lot of an apartment complex this week. The animal suffered serious injuries and is being cared for by the SPCA of Texas.

Police were called to the parking lot of an apartment complex at 8181 Scyene Circle just before 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 26th. Witnesses told police that "the cat was found in a bag by a dumpster, and children appeared to be stomping on it," said Madeline Yeaman, Senior Marketing Communications Specialist for the SPCA of Texas.
The officers who responded to the scene transferred the female cat to the SPCA for treatment.
"We immediately provided it with care that included things like giving it pain medications, making it comfortable, giving it a special kind of food," said Yeaman. "This is definitely one of those cases that is really hard to see."
The cat has a broken jaw and several other injuries, but the veterinarian treating the animal does expect it to recover.
Witnesses described the suspects in the case as three juvenile males. All three were wearing white polo shirts and khaki pants.
The SPCA of Texas and the Dallas Police Department are urging anyone with information about the case to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (877)-373-TIPS or to reach out directly to DPD Detective H. Tamez in the Animal Cruelty Unit at (214)-671-0115.
