Accused serial killer Billy Chemirmir is set to be retried for the murder of a north Dallas woman.

The jury was unable to reach a verict in Chemirmir's first murder trial. One juror tells KRLD news they went home after the first day of deliberations with a 7-5 vote to convict. The jury was ultimately hung at 11-1 and a mistrial was declared.
The new trial is scheduled for April 25th and will be for the same case, the smothering death of Lu Thi Harris of north Dallas.
The prosecution's evidence in the trial will also be largely the same including witness testimony from Mary Bartel, one victim who survived an attempted smothering and whose recorded testimony was used in the first trial.
Bartel died of natural causes before the first trial could begin.
Chemirmir is accused in 13 capital murder cases in Dallas County and five more in Collin County, which has not ruled out seeking the death penalty.
