Dallas County prosecutors dropped the capital murder case against 31-year old Shane Wright after another man pleaded guilty and said Wright had nothing to do with it.

Wright, David McKinney and Synthia Franklin were all arrested for the February 2020 robbery and murder of Hosia Abdallah. Abdallah was found shot to death in his Lake Highlands apartment on Jupiter Road near Northwest Highway.

Reports say there were no witnesses and the best evicence prosecutors had came from cell phone records that put Wright in the area.

Complicating matters for the state, co-defendant McKinney pleaded guilty for a 25-year prison term and later admitted to defense attorney Brad Lollar that he acted alone.

Lollar said prosecutors had little else to back their case, so they had to drop the charges.
