Dallas-Fire Rescue officials made the announcement Saturday night saying Brad Cox was is "no longer a member of the department," confirming he had been fired.
The department had been under pressure to fire Cox and charge him after the video of the attack was released last month.
The actual attack happened 2 year ago. The victim is suing Cox and the city of Dallas in connection with the assault.
