Family remembered him as a man who lived his dream by working as a Dallas Police Officer. He was an instructor for the police underwater recovery team.

Harn was born in Mississippi and played football as a walk-on at Mississippi State.

A knee injury ended his playing career, causing him to turn to law enforcement. His first job was as an officer in Mississippi before he moved to Dallas.

He is the fourth Dallas police officer to die in the line of duty in 2021, and the fourth to die of coronavirus-related causes since the pandemic began.
