Operation Epic Fury in Iran is raising new questions if Iran will be able to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

They already qualified but there are questions now if the team will even be able to travel.

Iran is scheduled to play in the Group Stage phase in both Los Angeles and Seattle.

FC Dallas President Dan Hunt hopes they will be able to play as World Cups help to lift up countries.

"I'm very sorry for what's going on there but this is a great moment for their country," Hunt said this week. "These players have spent their whole lives preparing for it."

Hunt says it is possible Iran could play in North Texas but only if they make it far into the elimination round.

Iran's participating is also raising safety and security concerns.

Hunt said it doesn't matter what team is playing in a match.
Safety and security are the number one priority.

"We view every single match as an important singular event in how we protect all fans and spectators," Hunt said. "Safety and security is our number one focus to make sure all who is going to be here have the best experience possible."
