Major Paul Junger told the public safety committee today that violent crime is down over 15% from the year before. He credits their crime plan which was implemented last May.

"The number of weapons and the amount of drugs recovered is up again this month," Junger said. "Our yearly arrests are down over 300 arrests."

He says murders, aggravated assaults, and robberies are all down. He also touted work the department has done with federal partners in catching known criminals, including a recent operation in Hamilton Park.
