Back in August the Denton city council approved a mask mandate thru September 30th. Last night it was extended another month.

The mask mandate includes all Denton schools as well. That means all students, school staff, city employees and visitors must wear a mask while inside city facilities. Fines for violating the mandate could be as high as $1,000.

Governor Abbott vowed to sue any city or school district that violated his executive order banning mask mandates. But, the Governor conceded in court documents that he has no real power to enforce that executive order.
