EULESS (1080 KRLD) - The family of a Euless Police detective killed by a suspected drunk driver last weekend is improving.
Det. Alex Cervantes was killed in Lake Worth last Saturday when a driver ran a red light at the intersection of Boat Club Rd. and Rocky Point Trl. and plowed into his vehicle.

Cervantes' wife and kids were also in the car with him, and Police Chief Mike Brown says the kids have shown remarkable improvement.
"Both of the children have been released from the hospital and are resting at home with family," Chief Brown said during a Thursday morning news conference.
The wife's condition has also improved.
"Alex's wife's condition has been upgraded to stable," said Chief Brown. "She is still sedated and not able to communicate with her family."
As such, funeral arrangements for Det. Cervantes are still pending.
"The family's wishes are that no decisions about services and honors be made until she is able to make those decisions," Brown said.
Dylan Molina, 26, is charged with intoxication manslaughter and other charges.
"We continue to provide around-the-clock support for the Cervantes family and will continue to do so and ask that the community continue to keep the Cervantes family in their thoughts and prayers as they take their first steps without Alex," said Brown.
