Fort Worth (1080 KRLD) - Voters in Fort Worth and Arlington are going to the polls today to elect new city leaders. There are runoff elections in both jurisdictions to select a new mayor. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price chose not to run for re-election. The top two candidates during the May general election were Mattie Parker and Deborah Peoples. They're on the ballot today. Parker is the former Chief of Staff to Mayor Price. Peoples is the former Chair of the Tarrant County Democratic Party.
In Arlington, voters are choosing between lawyer and former Arlington police officer Jim Ross and former Arlington City Council member Michael Glaspie.
Garland, Richardson and Seagoville are also choosing new mayors.
Dallas held City Council elections in May, but there were six races where none of the candidates got a majority of the vote. Those races are on the ballot today. In three places, the incumbent was not running for re-election.
Dallas County has a list of polling places on its website as does Tarrant County.
