After reaching an agreement with prosecutors who had sought to revoke his probation for DWI, Fort Worth Councilman Cary Moon will report to the Johnson County jail on May 25th for his two-day stay.

Moon has been on probation after pleading no contest to a DWI charge from October of 2020.

Prosecutors allege that Moon had violated his probation conditions several times, including drinking alcohol, failing to submit to urinalysis tests and traveling out of state without court permission.

After Moon's jail stay, he will need to wear an ankle monitor for four months and have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle.

Moon had previously announced plans to resign from the city council in order to make what was ultimately an unsuccessful bid for state representative.

The special election for his seat will be May 7th, 18 days before he's scheduled to report to jail.
