Fort Worth is moving up the rankings in America's biggest cities again.
New census figures show Fort Worth's estimated population as of last year at 927,720 people.
That moves Fort Worth up to number 12 on the list of the biggest cities in the U.S., overtaking Jacksonville, Florida.
Fort Worth has also overtaken Indianapolis and Columbus in the population rankings in recent years.
In fact, since 2010, Fort Worth has added more than 186,000 new residents, that's more than the entire estimated population of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Moving from 12th to 11th, however, will be a challenge.
That spot is occupied by another rapidly-growing city Austin, with an estimated population of 995,484
Three other Texas cities rank above Fort Worth in population: Houston (#4, 2,316,120), San Antonio (#7, 1,567,118) and Dallas (#9, 1,343,266).
New York City remains by far the biggest city in America, with a population of a whopping 8.25 million.
That's more than double the population of the number-two city on the list -- Los Angeles (almost 4 million).
