The cost to run a restaurant in Texas is increasing just as customers are coming back to the table.
An industry, already hit hard by the pandemic is now being hit by supply-chain issues, says Dr. Emily Williams-Knight with the Texas Restaurant Association.
"We do expect this month that you will see some slight price increases because the restaurant just can't afford to carry that burden," said Williams-Knight. "I mean you're talking about doubling of a chicken breast price. That's pretty extraordinary in such a short period of time and it's really reflective of the supply chain challenges that we've had all the way back to the packing plants last summer."
Knight says there are also issues hiring enough workers. She says you might want to pack your patience when going out to eat.
