GARLAND (1080 KRLD)- Police in Garland arrest three people suspected of stealing thousands of gallons of gasoline from stations across north and northeast Texas.

Investigators say the crooks used a box truck with an internal storage system to steal more than 18,000 gallons of fuel from the Ricky Rockets Fuel Station on Jupiter Road. Detectives located the vehicle on Thursday and placed it under surveillance. They followed it as it drove northeast toward Texarkana.

When it stopped, Garland Police officers and Texas DPS Troopers moved in. They say they stopped the three suspects in the middle of another theft, and that they already had more than 1,500 gallons of stolen fuel.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Julio Benitez-Hernandez, 42-year-old Joxan Santos-Legon, and 30-year-old Rafael Vazquez-Unzaga. They were taken to the Bowie County Jail.

They're all facing theft charges in Dallas County, Bowie County and Franklin County.
