Texas Governor Greg Abbott officially launched his re-election bid over the weekend.
Governor Abbott officially filed for re-election in November, ahead of the December filing deadline but Saturday night he "officially" kicked off his campaign efforts in South Texas, as reported by NBCDFW.com.
Abbott was speaking to the Latino Leadership Summitt in the Rio Grand Valley.
Rice University political science professor Mark Jones tells KRLD's Russell Scott the Governor will be working hard to retain and gain more support from Texas hispanics.
