
In February, Irving police were asked to do a welfare check for an 81-year old woman who had not been heard from. They ended up forcing their way into a home on Brookstone Drive.

The body of 81-year old Laverne Coggins was found in a zipper bag in the garage and 52-year old Christopher Coggins was found hiding in the attic.
Now a Dallas County grand jury has indicted Coggins for murder.
Court records show Coggins had attacked his mother last year and even had an unlawful restraint charge filed. He was put on probation.
Coggins is back in jail and being held on a $1 million bond.
