"No active threat" was found Thursday at Collins Middle School in Lake Worth, which was placed on lockdown while officers investigated reports of someone with a gun near the school, police say.

Lake Worth police said they established a reunification location in coordination with the Lake Worth ISD while the investigation is ongoing.

Lake Worth police said that no threat has been found at this time, "but out of an abundance of caution, we are going to conduct a methodical search of the school."

Police are asking people to please avoid the area while they investigate.
