In September, David Small crashed his pick-up on I-20 near the Bryant Irvin exit. His 9-year-old son was thrown from the wreckage and died at Cook Children's hospital.
Now, Small has been arrested.
The afternoon of the crash, Small was also taken to the hospital with a broken jaw. A nurse called police because she believed Small was under the influence. His blood alcohol level turned out to more than twice the legal limit for driving.
