LEWISVILLE (1080 KRLD)- Lewisville police are investigating a domestic violence murder-suicide that happened in the parking lot of an apartment complex early Thursday morning.

Police say a woman called 9-1-1 around 5:30 am and could be heard arguing with a man. She told dispatchers their marriage had ended recently. While she was on the phone with 9-1-1 dispatchers could hear several gunshots before the call went silent. That's when witnesses started calling 9-1-1 to say the man shot the woman several times before turning the gun on himself.

When officers arrived, they found the woman lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshots to her chest. They also found the man in the parking lot with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot to his head. Both were taken to hospitals where they were pronounced dead.

Lewisville police say they have been called to the address in the past to handle domestic violence-related incidents. No word yet on the names of the people who died.
