Dallas man claims self-defense in murder of transsexual woman

A Dallas man said he killed a transsexual woman two years ago but says he did it in self-defense.

Testifying in his murder trial, Ruben Alvarado says he thought he was picking up a biological woman two years ago for sex in his SUV at White Rock Lake. But when Chynal Lindsey turned out to be a transsexual, Alvarado told her to get out of his SUV.

Alvarado says Lindsey started fighting back so Alvarado said he took off his belt and used it to strangle Lindsey before dragging her out of his SUV and over to the water where he put her body in the lake.

The jury is expected to get the case tomorrow.
