A man was arrested in West Texas, and is waiting to be returned to Grapevine to face charges connected with a dangerous New Years Eve street takeover.

Grapevine police describe Juan Rodriguez as the ringleader who organized the event in the intersection of Main Street and Dallas Road just an hour before midnight.

Rodriguez is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, which is a state jail felony.

He was arrested by Sweetwater police on Tuesday and was locked up in the Nolan County jail until arrangements could be made to transfer him to Grapevine.
