New information out of Austin shows that one of the people arrested over a wild series of weekend street take-overs is an Arlington man named Jerry Gore.
Texas DPS troopers say they witnessed Gore's Camaro driving fast and recklessly in an Austin intersection, nearly striking pedestrians, and then speeding off at a speed of 140 miles-per-hour when troopers tried to pull him over.
DPS chased him for a while but he was going so fast, it was determined to be too dangerous to keep up the pursuit, especially when Gore shut off his lights.
But a DPS helicopter was overhead and simply followed the Camaro until it stopped at a convenience store. Two squad cars blocked the car in and when Gore came out of the store, he was arrested.
In searching the car, troopers found two firearms, one of which was found to have been stolen in Dallas.
