The manhunt for a suspected cop shooter near Wichita Falls ends in Arlington.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office had been on the hunt for 31-year-old Joshua Lee Green. Investigators identified him as the man who shot Deputy Breanton Chitwood during a traffic stop on Monday.
Officials say Green was tracked to a motel on Scots Legacy Drive in Arlington; and this morning, police cornered him and arrested him as he tried running across I-20 to escape.
In a Facebook video, Clay County Sheriff Jeffrey Lyde expressed his gratitude for everyone who helped capture Green.
Green is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and is currently awaiting extradition back to Clay County.
Deputy Chitwood, meanwhile, has not only been released from the hospital, but he is now back on the job.
