A murder indictment has been returned against a Dallas man who is accused of last month's shocking murder of an elderly woman.
On July 6th, 87-year old Anita Thompson was beaten to death in her own home in east Oak Cliff with a piece of concrete. Now a Dallas County grand jury has indicted 58-year old Andre Buggs for the murder.
It was a death that shocked the neighborhood in Oak Cliff. Mrs. Thompson had lived alone for 10-years, she had also told a neighborhood association that someone had tried to kick in her door just two days before, on the fourth of July.
The brutality of the murder led to a demonstration in the neighborhood.
Buggs has a 1995 conviction for sexual assault of a child. He is being held in the Dallas County jail on more than half a million dollars bond.
