There are a lot of good things about North Texas, but urban gardening is not one of them.
North Texas is one of the worst places in the country for urban gardening, according to a new study by LawnStarter which provides lawn care services ranked 196 U.S. cities from best to worst when it comes to friendliness for urban gardening.
The study took into account the length of the growing season, average yard size, and number of community gardens per 100,000 residents. Dallas came in at 119 out of 196, while Fort Worth was ranked 152nd. The highest on the list was Austin - which came in at number 48.
