The parents of Athena Strand are filing lawsuits against the man suspected of killing her, along with the companies that employed him.
Athena was the seven-year-old Wise County girl who vanished at the end of November. Her body was found two days later.
A delivery truck driver named Tanner Horner is charged with capital murder and remains jailed. Horner claims it was an accident. He says he was hired to deliver packages and was dropping one off at Athena's home in Paradise when he ran her over unintentionally.
Athena's parents, Maitlyn Gandy and Jacob Strand, have now filed lawsuits against Horner, against Big Topspin, the trucking sub-contractor that hired him, and against FedEx which hired Big Topspin.
