The FAA and DPS are investigating Monday's fatal small plane crash in Hunt County.
Officials say the single-engine two-seater Cessna crashed on take off at the Caddo Mills Airport, catching dry grass along the runway on fire on impact.
The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was dead at the scene.
A DPS trooper on scene suggests the plane experienced a mechanical issue but no specifics have been announced.
