Grand Prairie police have a man in custody this morning, charged with murder for killing another man following an argument.

Police say 32-year old Allen Hale is being held on a $500,000 bond for the shooting death of 35-year old Shannon McKnight. It happened in the 900 block of Sugar Mill Lane in Grand Prairie, not far from I-30 and the Bush turnpike.

Police say Hale and McKnight knew one another. But somehow the two got into what police call "a disturbance" and that got heated enough that investigators say Hale got a gun and opened fire, killing McKnight.

Police are still trying to get to the bottom of how things turned deadly so fast.
