
The statewide average price for a gallon of regular is $3.70, down seven cents from last week, and more than a quarter from its record high set last month, per AAA Texas.
Meanwhile, diesel is averaging out at roughly $4.72 per gallon, also a drop of seven cents on last week, and a quarter down on this time last month.
College Station-Bryan leads the state in metro average prices at $3.84 per gallon. Dallas clocks in at $3.68, Fort Worth-Arlington at $3.67, while Amarillo currently offers the state's best prices at $3.47.
AAA Texas says easing crude oil supply concerns and the release from the strategic reserve were the driving forces behind lower pump prices. It says prices will still be volatile with the continuing war in Ukraine and the start of the busy summer driving season just six weeks away.
