7 hour SWAT standoff in Hurst ends with barricaded suspect dead

UPDATE: 12:30 p.m.

A seven hour police stand-off with a gun wielding suspect has come to an end in Hurst, and neighbors are now gathered outside the house trying to find out more about what happened.

Hurst Police say the suspect came outside “brandishing & firing a weapon” at officers. Officers returned fire and killed the suspect.

In Hurst a SWAT team has surrounded a house on Willow Street near Hurstview Drive where an armed man is holed up inside since 2:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Polce reports say the unidentified man had been firing his gun inside his house for several hours.

People living in the area are being told to stay inside while SWAT continues to negotiate with the man.

No one has been hurt. The suspect's family fled earlier this morning.
