Police have arrested a teen after they took a loaded gun to Royse City High School on Friday.

Staff reported that several students told them that a 14-year-old had a gun in their backpack.
The school’s resource officer along with Royse City officers found the student and took them into custody. At the time the student was unarmed and without a backpack. But when they found the backpack in question, they found it had a loaded 9mm handgun inside.
Police say the student faces a charge of possession of a firearm in a prohibited place. Investigators continue to look into the students actions.
