A woman is dead and a man is in the hospital following a shootout with Allen Police.
Police say they got a call for a disturbance off Central Expressway. When they got to the location (601 W. McDermott Dr.) they saw a woman with a rifle at a parking lot of a Wendy's.
That's when they say they heard gunshots and saw the woman run away.
Police say when they caught up with the woman she was still holding the rifle causing an officer to pull his gun and shoot. The woman was struck.
In the parking lot, they found a man in between two cars suffering from several gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital. The woman died. No word on the condition of the man, who has undergone surgery.
Police say they are still trying to piece together what happened and have asked the Texas Rangers to assist. They are asking any witnesses to the shooting to come forward.
