'We’re Here' is an Emmy-winning show starring acclaimed drag queens Eureka, Shangela, and Bob The Drag Queen. The show follows the trio across the country with each episode taking place in a new city.
They visit with citizens of each community they visit and transform 3 individuals of different ages, genders, and sexual orientations into drag queens for a big reveal and show at the end of the episode.
The premiere episode of season 3 takes place in the quaint town of Granbury, Texas, just 50 miles from Dallas. Granbury has recently been in the news for being the home of Oathkeeper founder Stewart Rhodes, who was just found guilty for the role he played on January 6th. Tensions and emotions were high in this episode as the drag queens were anything but welcomed by the majority of the community.
Book bans and drag shows weren’t only a hot topic for Granbury but for the whole state of Texas. Those with more conservative values used bible verses to substantiate their claims for not wanting a drag show and some even threatened a book reading in the episode.
Adrienne Martin, the democratic chair of Hood County, talked to us about why it’s important to be an advocate for the LGBT community as well as her experience filming “We’re Here”.
“Drag is an art form. It's been around literally forever. I mean, they were doing drag in Shakespeare, so. I believe the controversy is really a lot of hype. And it's actually, you know, to me, a new way to target the LGBTQ community. And it's kind of a smear tactic.” said Martin.
Martin recently captured national attention after speaking out against an impending book ban at Granary ISD.
When asked what motivates her to speak out against injustice, Martin said she feels obligated to be the voice of underrepresented people.
"My question is not why do I do it, but why don't other people? Because to me, if I see something that I feel is unjust or wrong, I feel an obligation to speak out about it," she said.
Martin herself transformed into a drag queen at the end of the episode, and shared that the experience was like nothing she'd ever done before.
“Just like you would think it would be amazing. It was challenging. Seeing myself in drag was a unique experience, to say the least. Like I really it was almost kind of out-of-body. It didn't, it didn't look like me. And I felt like kind of this whole new, glamorous person.”
The first episode of We’re Here Season 3 is available to stream on HBO Max with new episodes available every Friday.
If you are not in the mood to watch fabulous transformations and heartfelt revelations, shift gears to the holiday season…. Sort of.

Gossip Girl
The second season of 'Gossip Girl,' a reboot of the popular CW series, is back on HBO Max. The first season was certainly iconic, as iconic as a drama made for teens can be anyways. The first season of the reboot missed the mark according to a majority of reviews, but the sophomore season is said to have some major improvements.
Just like the original, the series follows a group of rich kids living in the Upper East Side of New York City through a number of scandals and drama.
Gossip Girl Season 2 is now available on HBO Max. XOXO.
Darby and the dead
Darby and the Dead is Hulu's latest teen comedy, and although Halloween may be over, it seems people really have a craving for the supernatural this year! The story follows Darby Harper, a teenager trying to make her way through high school like everyone else.
There's only one difference between her and the rest of her class - Darby can see dead people. She gained the ability after a near-death experience and became a recluse until the most popular girl in school died and needed Darby's help to make sure her Super Sweet 17th birthday party still happens.
Darby and the Dead premieres on Hulu on December 2nd.
George & Tammy
Showtime's newest limited-series showcases the tumultuous relationship between country music legends Tammy Wynette and George Jones. Though complicated, the love story of the "King and Queen" of country music plays out just like a sad but endearing country song.
Oscar winner Jessica Chastain and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon lead the cast amongst several other familiar actors. If you're a fan of country music, this is definitely one you won't want to miss.
George & Tammy will be released on both Showtime and Paramount+ on December 4th.
